If your new year’s resolution is finding a new job in 2022, look no further for the best find a job websites of 2022!

Long gone are the days of going to find jobs in one place. Nowadays, you need to search multiple job boards (job search websites). And unfortunately, there are quite a lot to sift through.

Don’t worry… I got you!

As an active corporate recruiter, I can tell you that not all of these sites are used for every job a company has open. There are a few good websites to find a job that employers favorite for the majority of their jobs.

In addition, there are some niche websites for a job search that specialize in certain types of jobs like finding a remote job or a job in a special industry or field.

My goal is to outline the top few for you that you can find the most jobs on instead of wasting your time with everything.

What is a job search website?

Before I go into detail about each job search website, I want to explain what a job board actually is.

A job is basically a search engine that displays open jobs. Companies and recruiters post their open jobs on them, and they can actually go and search for their candidates on them as well.

When someone creates a profile on a job search website and uploads their resume, a recruiter can go on and filter all profiles to find people that match what they are looking for.

Do you want the secret to finding a job without effort? Make a complete profile and upload your resume on all the top job boards.

It might take some effort to create a profile on each one, but your chances of a recruiter reaching out to you for an opening skyrocket! It’s a lot easier to say yes to an interview request than it is to send out hundreds of resumes.

A complete profile means you have accurate contact information, a full list of your skills (ready for a recruiter to find you with), your full work history, and an uploaded copy of your resume.

Bad vs. Good websites to find a job

As mentioned before, there is a lot of noise out there when it comes to finding a job online. You can easily be told to go to some random website because it’s the best but find yourself struggling to even find something to apply to that you like.

An important issue to note: be careful adding your information and resume to websites that are new or may not have a big name behind them. Identity theft is a real thing – Most recruiters and companies don’t even trust smaller job search websites. You need to be wary of small or new sites. If something doesn’t seem right, just get out of there!

The list of my top 5 best websites to find a job includes most of the top job boards. At the end of the list, I’m going to list a few of my favorite job search tools to help you with your search as well!

Top 5 Best Websites for a Job Search

5. Monster

Monster is a global leader in connecting people and jobs. They’ve been around for 25 years and even have a new app that helps you find a job on the go.

Monster does have a ton of great jobs to apply to on their website. They definitely aren’t a small website for job searching. However, I add it as number 5 out of 5 on my list because there is still a lot of spam on the site.

You are even able to change your settings so your current job can’t see you.

I made the mistake once very early in my career of uploading my profile onto a job board only to have my boss find it like immediately. She had asked me flat out if I was looking for a new job and It made things very uncomfortable for a while.

4. FlexJobs

Want to know how to find a remote job? Flexjobs has you covered.

They are the Top job site to find real remote, work from home, and flexible jobs since 2007.

This is a big deal because they actually make sure these jobs are real. How many times did you find something online or on another job search website that turned out to be fake or not really a true remote job?

If you are sick of getting your hopes up, try flexjobs. As I’m writing this article, they have over 29,000 jobs listed and are working with nearly 5,500 companies.

I can’t recommend this highly enough for job seekers who are sick of the 40 hours a week in an office job.

3. Glassdoor

So I love Glassdoor. They have some really great jobs on there for pretty much everyone!

In addition, they have tons of behind-the-scenes information on companies that you otherwise wouldn’t normally get to know.

This includes lots of information about actual employee pay, reviews, interview questions, and benefits information.

It’s truly a goldmine. And it’s free.

Anytime I was questioning a company, all I had to do was go there and look at all the notes from real employees. I liked seeing if they paid well or if people hated their boss or even what the work/life balance was like.

The secret is that it’s all anonymous. People aren’t afraid to put their real feelings and salaries out there.

2. LinkedIn

As a recruiter, I absolutely love LinkedIn.

They have a treasure-trove of jobs to apply to on this site. It’s not great for certain fields that are more hands-on, but for most professional jobs, it’s wonderful.

Like Glassdoor, they do have loads of information collected by all their users. You can get salary information and even find out how you stack up against other applicants.

The only problem is that you do have to pay for that information and upgrade to a premium account… which is actually quite pricey.

Still, the beauty of LinkedIn is mostly with your profile.

If you have a completely filled-out profile with lots of skills listed, you’re almost guaranteed to have recruiters email you. Which is a really good thing.

1. Indeed

Indeed is my favorite finding a job website! By a landslide.

They just have so many jobs in their database it’s hard to not find something you like.

They have really specific filters that you can use as well so you can narrow down that huge list and find a job that makes you happy.

Indeed will automatically take jobs off company websites too so their well will never dry up.

As a recruiter, I use Indeed almost every single day when I look for candidates to fill my jobs. As a job seeker, this was always the job search website I went to first.

They always have the most jobs and if you have your resume and profile updated, you can apply to most of them with a simple click of a button.

Tricks to using Job Search sites

There are a few quick tips that I want to share to make it a little easier on you when trying to use find a job websites.

First, you want to make sure your resume and profile are full of keywords so that recruiters can find you. You don’t want your job search to be one-sided!

To do this, I recommend using jobscan. It’s a website where you can upload your resume and a job description that you are interested in, and it will tell you what you are missing. This makes sure you have the right keywords on your resume.

Second, know that companies use different job titles for the same job. Don’t just search the title you know. Go to google and type “other names for…” and add the job title you do know. Then search all the related ones on the job search websites as well.

Lastly, stay active. Don’t just go online one day and apply to a bunch of jobs and just wait to hear back before trying again. New jobs are added to find a job website every minute!

If you truly don’t want to miss something, set up alerts so they can actually email you when a job matching your skills or interests gets added.

Keep an eye out or add yourself to my email list. I’m going to post a more detailed article on finding hidden jobs if you’re struggling!
